Puri Pizza
A fun fusion of crispy Indian puri and cheesy pizza toppings, this recipe is perfect for snacks or a quick meal. It combines the crunch of deep-fried puris with gooey, flavorful pizza toppings

- 1 cup whole wheat flour atta
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder for extra crispiness
- Water as needed
- Oil for deep frying
For the Pizza Topping:
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese grated
- 1/4 cup bell peppers finely chopped
- 1/4 cup onions finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tomatoes deseeded & finely chopped
- 1/4 cup sweet corn optional
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes
- Salt to taste

Step 1: Prepare the Puris
- In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add water and knead into a firm, smooth dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls. Roll them into small circles (about 4-5 inches in diameter).
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Once hot, fry each puri until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Step 2: Assemble the Puri Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or use a stovetop method.
- Spread a layer of pizza sauce over each fried puri.
- Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese generously.
- Add chopped bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and sweet corn.
- Sprinkle oregano, chili flakes, and a pinch of salt for seasoning.
Step 3: Bake or Cook on Stovetop
Oven Method:
- Place the topped puris on a baking tray.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Stovetop Method:
- Heat a tawa (griddle) on low heat.
- Place the puris, cover with a lid, and cook for 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts.

- Serve hot with garlic dip or chili sauce.
- Garnish with fresh basil or extra cheese for extra flavor.
